About Me
Hi, I'm Carmen, a Certified Hand Therapist with over 16 years of experience helping people regain motion and function in their hands and upper extremities. I am licensed in the states of Tennessee and Illinois.
I've worked with patients recovering from fractures, surgery, tendon injuries and chronic hand pain-and I've seen how frustrating it is when progress is slow or stops altogether.
That's why I created a mobile hand therapy practice focused on something different:
One-on-one, personalized care designed to get results- without rushed visits or generic programs often found in traditional settings.
As a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT), I've completed advanced training and thousands of hours treating complex hand conditions-a distinction earned by less than 10% of therapists.
My goal is simple: Help you regain motion, reduce pain, and get back to using your hand normally as quickly and efficiently as possible.
Who is a Certified Hand Therapist?
- Must have a minimum of 3 years of clinical experience
- Complete 4,000 hours of practice in hand and upper extremity rehab
- Pass a meticulous certification exam
- Renew credentials every 5 years through continuing education and practice

- A 10 minute phone consultation to discuss your issues and determine your treatment needs.

- 60-75 min Comprehensive Evaluation
- A thorough assessment will be carried out, which will provide the layout for your plan of care for therapy. A custom home exercise program will be issued.

- 60 min Follow-Up Visit
- Regular follow-up visits are essential for you to reach your goals. Your plan of care will be re-evaluated and adjusted as needed at each visit to get you to be where you want to be.

- 45 min Telehealth Session
- Telehealth services using a HIPPA compliant video platform are available in the states of Tennessee and Illinois. This platform is primarily utilized for consultative services or mild upper extremity pain/mobility issues.

- Custom and prefabricated orthoses (splints) can be fabricated/fitted in one visit.

Freer Mobile Hand Therapy provides a cash-based service only so no insurances will be accepted. This allows for a holistic approach to recovery and the gold standard of care without interference from insurance companies. Forms of payment accepted are cash, check, credit card and HSA/FSA cards due at the time of service. Superbills available upon request. A travel fee may be added depending on distance and/or time from therapist's home.
